My Favorite Everything Sock pattern is now live on Ravelry.

Sock knitting is not just fun, sock knitting is practical. You have a great pair of well-fitting comfortable socks at the end of the process. When I created My Favorite Everything sock pattern, I selected each component based on my personal preferences.

The Cuff is 1x1 twisted rib. It is a little tighter than a 1x1 rib, and twisted rib has a nice clean look.

The Leg is long enough to provide stability and comfort, ending below the calf.

The Overall Pattern is slightly ribbed (k3, p1). This ensures a good fit and all-day comfort.

The Heel is a heel flap and gusset design using the Eye of Partridge stitch pattern for the heel flap, and the round heel for the heel turn. I have tried several different heels, and the heel flap and gusset provide the best fit for my foot. I think the Eye of Partridge stitch pattern looks interesting and is comfortable.

The Foot continues the rib pattern on top and stockinette on the bottom, so the fit is comfortably stretchy.

The Toe is a slightly modified wedge toe with a simple taper.

Enjoy!

Common Questions

People are funny. Most folks require a certain comfort level to ask certain questions. But coming out on your blog does encourage those close acquaintances or friends to ask questions. That’s cool. So here are the most common couple of questions.

By the way, I’ve noticed including certain words in a blog title, such as big, ass, gay, and party generates an interesting array of visitors to the site. I’m not sure what they are hoping to find :-) but I hope they are not too disappointed.

Autumn Shadows

Autumn Shadows

Every autumn the leaves turn.
I travel to the place of my fathers resting.
In an urban setting,
Colored in ranch style houses and drying laundry, The two of us come together again.

I seldom say much. Not really a point.
During his life, we weren’t close,
Just never seemed right.
Not really what either of us wanted,
But we seldom said much.

In a kind of opening reverence,
I bow to a knee.
Without thought, I gently touch the stone.
The letters are harsh and cold.
Alone they hold no meaning, but the stone
Reminds me to grieve.
