Macdrifter Summation of Text

A Simplenote Affair « Macdrifter: “WriteRoom Dropbox sync is amazingly fast. It’s faster than Simplenote with a large collection of notes. I use WriteRoom to quickly add a note. The launch and refresh time beat Simplenote by a large margin. The only thing I don’t like is the enormous margin in landscape.”

I’ve settled on Byword on my iPad for writing, and Elements for search if I can’t find what I’m looking for by the title.

However, work folks are threatening to block dropbox access again. Hopefully they wont, but if so, I’m screwed. I rely very heavily on my text notes and easy sync workflow. I would have switched to iCloud for syncing, but they already block that.¹

Oh well, I’ll cross that bridge when it screws up my productivity. If I find any creative solutions, I’ll write about it here.

1. That’s the price for working in healthcare. I shouldn’t complain, but I’m far more trusting in people than our security folks. After all, it is their job to be paranoid. I wish we could find some middle ground where work can get done, and paranoia can be satisfied. ↩
